After she allegedly humiliated a small business owner, netizens have expressed their displeasure with acclaimed actress Jackie Matubia, well known for her role as Nana in Citizen TV’s smash program Zora.
The talented actress had hired a little-known company to beautify her backyard with grass carpet, floating shelves, artificial plants and flowers, according to a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity to blogger Edgar Obare.
According to the source, Jackie and the company’s owner agreed that instead of paying the whole sum for her services, which came to Ksh102,000, she would pay half and promote the company on Instagram.
This, however, was not to be. According to reports, despite posting photographs of her remodeled backyard on her Instagram sites, Jackie attributed a different company for the work, which did not sit well with the individual who had done the work.
Before publicizing Jackie’s actions on social media, the company’s owner attempted to reach out to her to find out why she had acted in such a way, but her pleas fell on deaf ears. In an unexpected turn of events, the actress, who is expecting a child with Blessing Lungaho, has threatened to sue the business owner for defamation.
“You are trying to spoil my name for what? Trying to be relevant with my me? I demand you bring down that post if you do not want legal action against you. Be very careful young girl,” Jackie allegedly told her.
Her actions drew varied comments from social media users, with many wondering what she was getting out of upsetting a small company owner who only wanted publicity for her brand.
“There are evil people, then there is Jackie Matubia,” Shad Khalid wrote.
“That Jackie Matubia story, if true is really messed up. This is why Kenyans don’t see the need for a celebrity culture if people are accessible yet not good humans to them,” Imbayi K opined.
“Jackie Matubia deserve all those insults coming her way,” Opta Hos commented.
“That Jackie Matubia lady has serious issues. Going by that story, that’s very malicious of her,” Ali Quiz stated.
Our attempts to reach Jackie for comment bore no fruit as her phone kept ringing without being answered.
