In the Mathira parliamentary election, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has chosen Rigathi Gachagua’s replacement.
On Saturday, May 21, while campaigning in the area, the UDA, led by Deputy President William Ruto, chose Eric Wamumbi, a Konyu Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA), as its candidate.
After Ruto chose Gachagua as his running companion in the August 9 elections, the Mathira seat was left vacant.
Wamumbi was introduced during the party’s first political event in the constituency since Gachagua was appointed as Ruto’s deputy.
He will now face Wambura Wamaranga, a 76-year-old billionaire from Jubilee.
