Samuel Njau Gicheru, popularly known as Uncle Sam, caused a frenzy yesterday at parliament, where he had gone to view Former President Kibaki’s body after people noticed his striking resemblance to the slain president.
Uncle Sam’s face and hairline look exactly like President Kibaki’s. His lips also move the same as President Kibaki’s when he talks.
Interestingly, Uncle Sam has many life occurrences similar to Kibaki that will amuse you.
In an interview with SPM Buzz, Uncle Sam revealed that his wife’s name is Lucy, just like President Kibaki’s wife, Mama Lucy Kibaki.
While many people mock Kibaki for holding a press briefing to deny rumors that he had more wives other Lucy, Uncle Sam lauded the former president for defending his family and claimed he would also do the same.
As if that is not enough, Uncle Sam revealed that he was also involved in an accident that rendered him to be on a wheelchair for six months like President Kibaki.
To make the resemblance more wowing, Uncle Sam claimed that he had his accident on his way from a political gathering as was with Kibaki’s case on December 3, 2002, when he was on his back to Nairobi from a campaign meeting in Machakos.
On how he felt about resembling the former president, he claimed that he was happy and proud to resemble a great man like Kibaki, who is respected for his exemplary leadership. He said that he would have wished to meet Kibaki in person to tell him how he was an inspiration to many.
Contrary to people’s suspicions, Uncle Sam claimed that he was not related to President Kibaki biologically. He claimed that there was nothing wrong with him looking like President Kibaki as they are both sons of Gikuyu and Mumbi, the founding ancestors of the Kikuyu community.
Moreover, he assured people that he knows his father and mother; so, President Kibaki cannot be his sibling.
Ironically, Uncle Sam has never met Kibaki in person, but he has met the founding president Kenyatta and his successor, President Moi.
He also revealed that he had met President Uhuru, with whom he grew up in Gatundu village, where they both hail.
