Going through her social media page, Esthermarrie Inzekellah is full of regrets.
In one post, she says “May be it was my bad choice…but who tells the future?”
She is one and a half months away from giving birth, but she has no idea where she will get food, clothes, or diapers for her baby.
That is only a small part of her issues; she is currently facing eviction from her Kangemi home due to rent arrears.
TUKO.co.ke obtained a phone conversation between the 33-year-old and her landlady.
Esthermarrie has been given a deadline to pack her possessions and vacate the premises. Esthermarrie hasn’t paid rent in four months, resulting in a KSh 10,000 debt.
Education
Perhaps, the most heartbreaking aspect of her story is the fact that she is not only a graduate of Media School but has also worked as a presenter at Destiny Radio and TV.
“I have volunteered at Egerton Radio, MKU Nakuru Campus studio, as well as former Fahari
Radio. I was at Destiny in 2018,” she stated.
Apart from joblessness, Esthermarrie’s woes have grown in the recent past given that, in her present state of pregnancy, not many people are willing to offer her jobs.
She explained that, despite the fact that her due date is only a few weeks away (June 13), she has no supplies for the baby, not even a diaper.
“I also have another child who hasn’t been in school since November last year, let’s just say I have no rent, no food, and no school fees,” she said.
Even in her current state, she is the guardian of her niece and the widowed mother of a fragile child.
Job
Esthermarrie claims she attempted holding a banner around Muthaiga in the hopes of seeing a destiny helper who would offer her work, but it was in vain.
“My two babies need me, so all I need is a job to help me secure shelter and food. I know I’m pregnant but not incapacitated, I will work even without maternity,” she said.
She explained that, despite her media history, she is adaptable and can work as a hostess in a hotel setting.
Aside from work, she is looking for well wishers who can donate a newborn’s clothes, even if they are used.
Marriage
The MKU graduate claims she was formerly married, but that her relationship with the father of her children soured, and that he was arrested not long after they split up for reasons she doesn’t understand.
“I learnt that he was in custody when I was pregnant after I tried reaching him to inform him in
vain. It took a friend to inform me that he was behind bars,” she noted.
