Comedian Jasper Muthomi, popularly known as MC Jessy, is back in the Imenti South parliamentary race.
Last week, MC Jessey broke his followers’ hearts after he announced that he was stepping down from the race in favor of Mwiti Kathaara, his opponent.
Both MC Jessy and Mwiti were vying for the seat under the UDA party ticket. However, the party had one slot and the Deputy President had to intervene to decide which candidate would carry the UDA’s flag in the race.
Unfortunately for MC Jessy, Mwiti was selected and he had to step down to join the party’s presidential campaign team.
The Deputy President’s announcement read, “Jessy (Jasper Muthomi) will join the presidential campaign team after postponing his parliamentary bid in favor of Mwiti Kathaara for the South Imenti Seat.”
While the decision was convenient for the party, many people, especially the people of Imenti South were not happy with it
People have been yearning to have youthful leaders in the coming election to get the change that current leaders in office haven’t been able to achieve.
They can relax as the comedian has announced that he is back to the race.
In an Instagram post, MC Jessy compared his bid to an arrow sent from a mighty man’s hand. He assured his followers that he was still in the race and requested them to keep supporting them.
The post read, “Sent like an arrow from a mighty man’s hand. We keep going….. Bado Tuko kwa race. Let’s do this South Imenti, 9th August it is.”
He went on to declare his support for the Deputy President, William Ruto, in the August election. He thanked Ruto for his political support.
“Thank you my Boss HE The Deputy President Dr William Ruto for your counsel, My support For you remains Intact!!!!” he declared.
Ironically, his fans are confused by his quick change of mind.
