Singer and media personality MC DNG, whose real name is Davidson Ngibuini, has the hotly contested UDA nomination primaries for the Woodley Kenyatta Golf Course Ward.
The elated newly politician took to his Instagram handle to thank his followers for choosing him over his opponent who stopped at nothing, including bribing his supporters, to sabotage his win.
According to him, the journey was hard because his opponents despised him for being raised by a single mother and young, and not having much money.
Luckily for him, he has the heart of God and people. He claimed that these attributes helped him win people’s favor despite the huge discrimination he faced.
He noted, “I may be young, I may not have much money, I may have been raised by a single parent as has been used against me but I have the heart of God and the heart of my people.”
He went to congratulate the people of Woodley ward for choosing to love him despite being tempted to fall for candidates who thought they could buy their loyalty with money.
“I realised that without a doubt, that the love is real; and that Woodley Kenyatta Golf course Ward has made its choice in favour of my candidacy- no matter how much money is poured by my true coward opponent hiding in the shadows. I am grateful to God for this opportunity.”
His fellow artist comedian Jasper Muthomi, alias MC Jessey was forced to step down from his parliamentary seat in the South Imenti constituency in favor of his opponent.
DNG’s win comes in wake of shocking outcomes of the just-completed UDA primaries in various parts of the country.
Among the top-notch UDA politicians who have lost in the nomination race include nominated senator Isaac Mwaura, Laikipia woman representative Cate Waruguru, Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago, and Soy MP Caleb Kositany.
