Just months before the General Election, Deputy President William Ruto’s office claims it has not been receiving operational funds from the National Treasury.
According to a worker who spoke to the Saturday Nation, the situation is so terrible that Dr Ruto uses his money to pay for the accommodation and other expenditures of his workers, including security officers, who accompany him to campaign rallies across the nation.
According to the source, the president’s financial officer refused to sanction per diems and imprests for Dr. Ruto’s employees.
The DP also pays for fuel for government vehicles out of his own pocket, according to the source, after the votehead for this was also stopped.
Dr. Ruto was recently accused by former presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot in a letter to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
