Comedian and content creator Arap Uria has opened up about his decision to move on from a past relationship with the mother of his child, following what he describes as persistent emotional and psychological strain, public shaming, and false accusations.
In a detailed statement titled “Reason for Moving On With My Life,” Arap Uria responded to past claims that he had neglected his parental duties, clarifying that he has been actively involved in his child’s life—providing for essential needs such as accommodation, healthcare, food, and emotional support.
“I chose to remain silent not because the accusations were true, but because I believe sometimes, dignity lies in silence,” he wrote.
Support Beyond Parenting
Uria revealed that he went above and beyond to support his ex-partner beyond co-parenting. He stated that he paid her university fees, covered her accommodation, and even started two businesses for her—though both ventures failed due to what he described as poor management on her part.
“I helped settle her in two different places, only for her to leave later and transfer items back home to create an image of poverty online,” he claimed.
He further alleged that she publicly posted him online in a way that risked his career and subjected him to online ridicule, which forced him into further financial strain.
Struggles Over Child Custody and Access
According to Uria, the conflict extended to access to his child, with claims that his ex denied him the opportunity to spend time with their child, even during moments when he had the capacity and time.
“It’s been a year and a half since I took the child home. She came and took the child forcefully. When I try to spend time with my child, she pressures me to return the child before we even get quality time,” he explained.
He also mentioned that she once falsely accused him of theft, alleging he had stolen the child, and attempted to report him to the police.
Choosing Healing Over Bitterness
Despite the ongoing tensions, Uria emphasized that he has chosen to pursue growth, accountability, and healing, instead of engaging in online retaliation or public drama.
“I deserve peace, growth, and purpose. I’m moving forward not out of bitterness, but out of a deep desire to build a better life for myself and my child,” he said.
He concluded his statement by urging mutual respect, noting that the full truth would eventually come to light.
“I urge her to respect my relationship as I respect hers. The truth always has a way of revealing itself in time.”
