Kenyan TikTok has once again turned into a battleground, and this time, it’s all about money—big money!
Brand ambassador and social media sensation Tata Essy wa Willy is up in arms, calling out certain TikTokers for allegedly eyeing a share of the KSh 1 million raised for Karangu Muraya’s estranged first wife, Triza.
“Hatuwapei Hata Ng’o!” – Tata Essy Fires Back
During a fiery TikTok live session, Tata Essy did not mince her words. She claimed that some of the TikTokers who spearheaded the fundraiser were already plotting how to pocket a percentage of the amount. But she made it crystal clear—Triza’s money stays with Triza!
“Tell them that the money they wanted us to send over to them, we will not send. Not even a single cent. We cannot stay on TikTok live for three days raising money for Triza only for people to demand KSh 100,000 each,” Essy fumed.
According to her, the fundraiser was meant to help Triza rebuild her life, not line the pockets of opportunists. She insisted that the money was safely in Triza’s account and would remain untouched unless Triza herself decided to use it—for food, clothes, or whatever she pleased.
Fundraiser or Business Opportunity? The Accusations Fly
The TikTok fundraiser was launched after Triza publicly shared her struggles following the end of her marriage. Within just two days, Kenyans from all walks of life came together and contributed a whopping KSh 1 million to help her get back on her feet.
However, not everyone is on the same page about how things should be handled. Enter Lady Jacqueline, a prominent figure on TikTok and the face behind the famous TikTok Court.
Jacqueline and other TikTokers have rubbished Essy’s claims, accusing her of being the one manipulating Triza for her own benefit.
“Right now, she is under the influence of Tata Essy. She is going around lying that we borrowed her KSh 100,000 from the money we raised for Triza. Tata Essy is only using Triza for her own selfish needs,” Jacqueline countered.
“KSh 100,000 Is Too Little for Me” – Lady Jacqueline Claps Back
Jacqueline was quick to distance herself from the alleged money demands, even going as far as saying that if she were to ask for money, it wouldn’t be a mere KSh 100,000 because that amount was too little for her. Talk about confidence!
She also questioned why Essy was still housing Triza instead of allowing her to move out and reflect on her situation independently.
TikTok Streets on Fire! Who’s Telling the Truth?
As this drama unfolds, social media is buzzing with divided opinions. Some people are standing firmly behind Tata Essy, praising her for safeguarding Triza’s well-being.
Others are siding with Jacqueline, arguing that Essy is the one playing games with Triza’s situation.
One thing is for sure—this battle is far from over. Will Triza finally speak out and settle the debate? Will TikTokers back down, or is more drama loading? Stay tuned for the next episode of Kenyan TikTok Chronicles!
