Former Kiambu County Governor and Businessman William Kabogo has issued strong statement a few hours after endorsing UDA Party leader DP Wiliam Ruto.
While speaking at Thika Stadium, Kabogo called DP Ruto to join him at the podium, where they exchanged handshakes before the 2022 gubernatorial candidate endorsed him for the presidency.
“Acheni niwaonyeshe mchana mahali kura yangu ya rais inaenda, huyu [Ruto] ndiye rais wa tano. Sisi sio mali ya mtu na kama kuna kitu itafanyika wacha ifanyike leo.”
Here is his full statement that has excited his followers and caused stiron social media:
“There comes a time, when the will of the people prevails. As a true son of the mountain, I have taken time to listen to the people of the mountain, and the great people of Kiambu who I love so much and the decision is now made.
As a selfless leader whose sole intention is to ensure that the people who look up to me are well represented and that their aspirations are well catered for, I have made the decision to join other like minded leaders in the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
Henceforth, I will work hand in hand with the leaders in Kenya kwanza to not only deliver the presidency to our candidate William Samoei Ruto, but also take over as Governor of Kiambu and continue the good work that was abruptly stopped in 2017.
