Outspoken televangelist Pastor James Ng’ang’a has once again found himself at the center of public debate following contentious remarks about his church, Neno Evangelism.
Known for his unfiltered sermons and a history of controversial actions, the preacher’s recent statements have drawn widespread criticism.
In a viral TikTok video, Pastor Ng’ang’a asserted that his worship centre is unlike ordinary churches, claiming it operates as a “referral” ministry for addressing complex problems that other churches fail to solve.
“This is not a church. Churches are those you have left in places like Kawangware where you have come from. This is a referral. Somebody comes from Machakos and all other places. This is a referral. We deal with those cases that have defeated other people. People come from Mombasa or Murang’a,” he declared.
The preacher also emphasized that Neno Evangelism offers unique services, attracting worshippers from across the country who seek solutions to challenges beyond the scope of traditional churches.
The comments have elicited mixed reactions, with critics accusing Ng’ang’a of promoting a self-aggrandizing narrative and undermining traditional churches. Meanwhile, some of his followers have defended his statements, calling his ministry a specialized sanctuary for those in need.
Mocking Women and Their Makeup
This latest controversy follows recent backlash over remarks Ng’ang’a made about women, particularly those who wear makeup. He mocked women for spending time beautifying themselves, suggesting that their efforts often go unnoticed.
“You take too much time beautifying yourself and then spend an entire day, and no one even bothers to approach you,” he said, adding crude comments that left many in his audience stunned.
