In their latest podcast, Hey Girl, Mungai Eve and Liz Jackson covered various personal and social topics, sparking an engaging discussion around body image, relationships, and marriage.
The two hosts connected over their experiences with body shaming and shared insights into how they deal with criticism.
They also explored views on dating and relationship dynamics, where Mungai Eve candidly expressed her firm stance against polygamous relationships.
Through their honest perspectives, they addressed both societal expectations and personal boundaries, building an empowering space for open conversation.
During the podcast, Eve confessed that she’s always in a relationship even before breaking up.
“I am always in relationship because I love sex a lot. Mimi napenda mechi. I enjoy it because I have a great body.”
However, she noted that she always sticks to one person at a time.
“You shouldn’t go around boasting that you are sleeping with multiple people.” she expressed her disgust.
She is opposed to the concept of ‘kugongewa’, a concept around revenging when one partner cheats.
Eve and Liz discussed how such ideas spread on social media apps like tiktok. They are not comfortable with this dating or marriage concept.
“I’ve been watching people and the way they glorify sleeping around with different people like I find it weird especially for women. Somehow me I feel like a lady, you shouldn’t boasting like you are sleeping with different people. Like it’s disgusting, Is it really an achievement/”
I feel like having multiple partners is unhygienic and dirty. She prefers a monogamous relationship before moving on to the next.
“I dont want to be biased but I feel like if you are a girl, on tiktok glorifying kugongewa, kugogeana, how you are sleeping around with men, I find it dirty and unhygienic.”
Adding
“Me I wouldn’t by the way, actually I’ve never had like . I’m always in a relationship juu mi napenda mechi, so since I cannot have different partners, I cannot sleep around with different persons, I have to have one person”
Eve was in a ‘marriage’ with Director Trevor but broek up.
The two met in 2020, where they developed a working and dating relationship.
She opened up about their ‘marriage’ earlier this year in a sit down with Andrew Kibe.
Eve said many reasons contributed to their separation.
“I wouldn’t want to talk much about it, but what I can say is, it’s a whole lot of so many things. I knew it was coming. It was meant to come to an end,” she said.
Andrew Kibe asked her, “I suspect you are the one who was cheating?”
Eve said, “You might be wrong or right.”
On February 19, Director Trevor announced their breakup and said Eve was no longer part of his production crew.
He rebranded the “Mungai Eve” YouTube channel to “Kenya Online Media” and said Eve’s services “are no longer needed”.
