A 20-year-old University of Nairobi student, Mercy Kwamboka, was brutally murdered and her hands doused in acid before being dumped in a bush in Mwiki, Nairobi.
Police are investigating murder, rape, kidnapping, and robbery in the incident.
Kwamboka is believed to have been lured from her house.
Statements recorded Several people had been questioned and their statements recorded, said Kasarani Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Justus Ombati.
“We have talked to several people of interest in the case. We will get to the bottom of the murder,” he said.
Kwamboka was also suffering from epilepsy and had left her house in a huff on September 27, her family said.
The suspected kidnappers might have intended to kill her, as her phone and money were found at the site where her body was discovered.
She left her home late at night after receiving a phone call.
Her body was found in Mwiki without trousers, with her mobile phone and a Sh1,000 note lying nearby.
Some witnesses claimed to have seen a car at the scene.
DCI detectives said no arrests had been made and the motive for the killing had not been established.
