Gerald Mwangi, a well-known Super Metro crew member has passed away.
Following a severe car accident, Mwangi was admitted to the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), where he passed away.
The deceased reportedly experienced multiple organ failure not long after losing one of his legs.
“Gerald died at around 10:30 pm on Thursday, October 10. He was at the critical unit for close to a week after the accident.
His heartbeat was low, and, therefore, he could not be taken to the theatre. Blood was not flowing to his body, and one of the legs started to decompose, leading to an amputation,” Super Metro official said.
Gerald Njoroge Mwangi, alias Mwas, went viral for his full beard, which endeared him to many female passengers.
In a Thursday, October 10 post, the sacco announced that Mwas had been admitted to the Kenyatta National Hospital.
In an urgent blood appeal, Super Metro disclosed that Mwas needed blood group B positive and gave the contact information.
Super Metro disclosed that Mwas was injured at work and rallied Kenyans to support him.
“Quickest recovery Mwas. Mwas was involved in an accident in the line of duty, and he urgently needs us, pals. Please support him. Thank you, and be blessed,” they wrote.
Kenyans overwhelmingly responded to the post, with some offering to donate blood. Others wished Mwas a quick recovery.
