Comedian Eddie Butita’s YouTube channel has been reported to have disappeared, as evidenced by a screenshot displaying an empty screen with the message.
“This channel is not available.”
The comedian, who previously had 335k subscribers, faced criticism for not speaking out about the RejectFinanceBill 2024, prompting him to firmly reject the proposed bill.
“In light of recent events, I feel it’s important to publicly declare my stance on the Finance Bill 2024. I, Eddie Butita, stand with #RejectFinanceBill2024.
It’s time to listen; collective voices cannot be wrong. Gen Z, help me find a cool t-shirt, and I’ll join you at the office.”
Acknowledging the frustration of Kenyans with the state of the nation, Butita stressed the need for effective representation and ensuring voices are heard.
He explained his previous avoidance of political commentary, noting that his current silence isn’t justified given the circumstances.
“The Finance Bill in its current form is unacceptable. I’ve voiced my concerns and will continue to do so because I’m both a citizen and a businessman. I want the best for my countrymen, family, friends, and colleagues.”
Regarding the disappearance of YouTube channels, reasons could include violations of YouTube’s Community Guidelines or copyright policies, repeated breaches of terms of service, or the channel owner’s decision to delete it.
