A video showing a shocking discovery in Chwele, Bungoma County, has gone viral, leaving both locals and netizens in disbelief.
The footage captures villagers uncovering what they believe to be evidence of witchcraft in a suspected witch’s den.
The startling incident began when villagers, driven by suspicions of illicit activities following the premature death of a local woman, decided to search several homes.
The deceased woman, a newly married wife of a man named Maina, had died under mysterious circumstances, raising alarms within the community.
During the searches, villagers uncovered a bag filled with items that they associate with witchcraft.
The viral video, posted on Instagram, shows a large group of villagers gathered around, examining the bag’s contents.
Among the disturbing items were snake skins, human hairs, and other objects that sent shivers down the spines of those present.
One woman in the video recognized a photograph among the stash – a picture of the woman who had recently died.
This discovery intensified the villagers’ belief that witchcraft was involved in her untimely death. She called on others to confirm her discovery, adding weight to the suspicions.
The chaotic scene escalated as more unusual items were revealed, including additional photographs of people, some of whom were children, and pots containing mysterious concoctions and beards.
Among the most alarming finds were a long horn and a large black snake.
Further digging uncovered even more unsettling objects: photos of prominent individuals, including Kijana Wamalwa, along with cow hides, dead cobras, and animal hair.
The presence of these items, the villagers believe, has brought significant trouble to their community.
