Samuel Muchoki, better known by his stage name Samidoh, is a devoted father of five who is confident in his role.
Speaking to a local blog, Samidoh said he was proud of his role as a father and that he has never let any of his kids go without anything.
The singer is married to senator Karen Nyamu, who is a nominee, and his wife, Edday Nderitu, has children.
“Si unaona wako sawa? Ubaya ni mtoto akose chakula ama…my responsibility is to raise my kids. Na nawa raise wote, sawa? Yeah equally why not?” he said.
“I may not be many things but I’m a good father. I’m there for my children always. I’m always there for them. When it comes to time, when it comes to financial support, I’m always there for them, all of them,” he affirmed.
The singer who quickly rose to fame from being a police officer to a celebrated Mugithi artiste also talked about the challenges of being in the limelight.
“There is a cost to everything. Wakati nili kuwa nachunga ngombe Ol Jorook, kitu haingenipata, because I was a nobody. But now when I became famous hii negativity kidogo lazima ujue kubalance,” he admitted.
Adding;
“The problem is you guys you blow things out of proportion you misquote someone, put things here and there.”
Samidoh said he is determined to shield his children from the negativity surrounding him.
“So me kazi yangu ni kukaa chini na watoto wangu niwaambie life yako ikiwa hivi kuna mtu atachukuwa kitu aweke na wewe mweneywe haukusema,” he said.

Speaking to SPM’s Silva Kido, the singer said that he believed he was a good father to all his children.
“I may not be many things, but I am a good father,” Samidoh said.

When asked why he thought so, Samidoh explained that he always makes time for his children and supports them financially.
“What makes you think you are a good father?” Silva asked.
“Because I am there for my children always. When it comes to time, when it comes to financial support, I am always there for them…all of them,” the singer responded.
Samidoh on his kids and baby mama drama
Samidoh was then asked about his baby mama drama, which is constantly making headlines, and whether it affected his relationship with his children.
He disclosed that he often sits his kids down, especially his eldest daughter, with Edday Nderitu, and explains the situation to her, pointing out that sometimes the information presented online is skewed or false.
“Mimi kazi yangu ni nikae chini na watoto wangu niwaambie life yako ikiwa hivi kuna mtu atachukuwa kitu aseme na wewe mwenyewe haukusema,” Samidoh said.
“I talk to my daughter because yeye ndo mkubwa na hata hao engine, ukipata chance unawaongelesha,” he added.
