The online community is mourning the demise of content creator Rebecca Livingstone, known to many as Grandrising.
Rebecca Amollo Livingstone Tala is being eulogized as having lived unapologetically, making many friends along the way.
Her daughter Saby Jua announced the death The family statement read
“Dear Family and Friends, With deep sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Rebecca Amolo Tala Livingston.
A wonderful wife to George H. Ogalo, cherished mother to Tara Ogalo, Khadijat Balogun, Dan Nguyo and beloved grandmother to Sankara Nguyo. She was also a dear sister to Jack Arum, Gerishon Odare, John Ochieng, Esther David, Veronica Amimo, Suzanne Wandango, Penina and a beloved aunt to Fredrick Koyier, Phil Arum, Millicent Ominde, Dennis Koyier, and many more.”
Kenyan tiktoker based in Germany Nyako expressed her sorrow at the news of her demise.
“I will miss Rebecca. Me myself na hizo tabia zake. I will miss her, she is somebody I cannot just say ata heri amekufa, there is a part of Rebecca that we will miss as content creators. She had a soft spot somewhere. She didn’t have such a dark heart. And I can feel it and that is why I will miss Rebecca.”
Adding
“She was sick, hata nilijiuliza kwani huyu Rebecca amenona aje? She was not looking like the normal Rebecca I knew. And also if it is that way may she rest in peace. We have lost one of ours, it doesn’t matter if she was a bad influence or not, a departed soul is a departed soul. We will still celebrate her. We will miss her really” noted Nyako.
A GoFundMe to raise 6,000 dollars has been set up.
“Rebecca’s legacy of courage and fearlessness will forever echo in our hearts. In this time of sorrow, we seek your support to enable Tara, Khadijat, and Sankara to bid their beloved Rebecca a heartfelt farewell. We’ve set our plans to honor her between September 18th and 22nd, recognizing that while we may not comprehend.” Reads the appeal for donations.
