Radio Personality Maina Kageni claims he first drank alcohol when he was 14 years old.
He presented his experience in light of a recent NACADA research.
According to the research, 46 percent of Kenyans aged 15 to 65 currently consume alcohol.
According to the same survey, 8% of children aged 10 to 14 have drank alcohol at least once.
“I was 14 when I had my first sip of alcohol. It is nothing to be proud of.
It is gonna be an uphill task because it is part of our sherehe. There are weeks I drink from Monday to Monday there are weeks I can’t.
I do not see it as a problem because I feel I can handle my alcohol. The problem is we assume it is a problem when we cant handle alcohol.
I have alcohol in the house but I live alone.
Is this a battle we can win? The collateral damage is our children and it’s a big problem.”
