New reports allege that the marital drama between Samuel Muchoki aka Samidoh and his wife began in 2019, when Edday found he was having an affair with the then-director of the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company, Ms Karen Njeri Nyamu.
The affair continued until Senator Nyamu was blessed with two children, fathered by the Mugithi singer.
However, as a result of the Mugithi star’s public infidelity, the wife is claimed to have fled to the United States with their three children, where she is staying with the singer’s cousin, Mrs Bernice Saroni.
Edday threatened to end their 15-year marriage in February 2023 if Samidoh and Karen continued to have an affair.
According to Nairobi News, the musician’s friends attempted to intercede, pushing Edday not to divorce Samidoh.
“When she threatened to leave the marriage, Edday informed me that fellow artists in the gospel and secular industry begged her not to leave,” a source revealed.
According to the source, Edday expressed her dissatisfaction with the turmoil in her marriage created by her husband’s infidelity.
“Muigai wa Njoroge advised her to stay in the marriage while they try to cool the boiling water and that if she leaves him, depression will slowly eat him up.”
It’s unclear when the woman will make a comeback.
Almost a month after she left the nation, little is known about her plans to return.
Samidoh saw off his wife and children at the airport in Kenya, despite some confusion about the nature of their departure.
Edday’s decision to take her children to the US followed her public expression of pain and frustration surrounding her troubled marriage with Samidoh.
In February 2023, she took to social media to share her side of the story, detailing the hardships she faced in her 15-year marriage.
“It has been exactly 15 years of marriage full of ups and downs,” Edday wrote. “The last three years, it has been nothing but pain.
I have remained faithful to you despite disrespect, humiliation, and being trolled on social media. You’ve made me look dumb and took my silence for granted.”
Edday expressed her unwillingness to raise her children in a polygamous family, especially with a woman who showed no respect for her or her family.
She vowed to continue putting God first but would not allow her children to be dragged into an ocean of pain.
“Today, I have nothing to tell God about you. You have dragged and put me and my kids in an ocean of pain. May you remember this day,” she concluded.
