Olivia Naserian: According to the Kitengela mom who allegedly sliced her infant into pieces, her behavior was motivated by low self-esteem.
Olivia Naserian told Nation just before being detained that she blames herself for having problems with her daughter.
“Ninajichukia mwenyewe. Sijipendi ndio maana niliua mtoto wangu. Nimepitia magumu na huyu mtoto,” Naserian said.
Loosely translated as: “I hate myself. I suffer from low self-esteem and that is why I killed my child. I have gone through a lot with my daughter.”
After she broke up with the kid’s father, Naserian, 24, a fourth-year Commerce student at a nearby institution, is accused of killing her child, Glory Njeri.
In an incident that left the community indignant, the mom is alleged to have sliced her infant into pieces before eating the intestines and kidney.
When the young mother attacked her daughter viciously while singing nursery rhymes, neighbors who had heard the child’s screams hurried to the house, thinking there had been a burglary at the house.
The terrible incident was caught on camera by neighbors who unsuccessfully attempted to break down the door.
The young child was already dead when the neighbors broke down the door and entered the home.
The young mother’s parents, who reside in the same home, were reportedly not home at the time of the occurrence, according to the neighbors.
She appeared before Chief Magistrate Jane Kamau on Tuesday, who issued an order requiring Naserian to stay in police custody for a further 10 days so that police investigators could finish their work.
On May 8, the woman is anticipated to show up for the hearing.
