Michael Magoha is a neurosurgeon and lecturer at the University of Nairobi. He is the only son of the late Professor Magoha and his wife Barbara Magoha.
Early Life
Michael Augustus Achianja Magoha was born in 1985. There are no details disclosed on his place of birth since professor Magoha kept his family matters private. However, he went to Strathmore School for his primary school education before proceeding to join Brookhouse School for his secondary school education.
Education
He later joined the University of Nairobi where he graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. After two years, he went back to the university where he attained a Master of Medicine in Neurological Surgery.
Career
The 38-year-old is a lecturer in Neurosurgery at the Department of Surgery of the University of Nairobi. He has previously worked at the Groote Schuur Hospital, the University of Cape Town in South Africa, and the Aga Khan University Teaching Hospital in Nairobi.
Magoha describes his career objective as “being a knowledgeable and research-oriented top grade Neurosurgeon.”
Family
Michael Magoha is the only son of the ex-CS professor George Magoha, who was recently pronounced dead at the Nairobi Hospital due to a heart attack. This comes during a time when the family was organizing the burial of Magoha’s brother, Prof Richard Alex Nyabera.
Prof Nyabera passed away on December 6, 2022, in Allen, Texas, United States. The family, on Wednesday, said prof Nyabera’s burial plans for Saturday will not be interfered with despite his brother’s passing.
The late Prof Magoha’s family is yet to decide on a date for his burial.
