A concerning number of Kenyan celebrities have recently been the targets of hackers.
The hackers typically demand a ransom to release the accounts.
They occasionally share improper content using the hijacked accounts, which has a significant negative impact on the victims’ reputation among their social media followers.
Tiktoker Kinuthia, who has more than 46K YouTube subscribers, has lost access to it
Kinuthia claims that the issue arose after he was unable to access his old phone, to which he had registered in using the email account used to create the channel.
This year, unidentified hackers also broke into Diamond’s YouTube channel, one of the most popular ones in East Africa.
The YouTube channel of the Gengetone Group Ochungulo family was also compromised in February of this year.
