Emma Too to sue Trevor Ombija’s Kileleshwa hotel over noise pollution

Former Model Emma Too has vowed to sue Citizen TV host Trevor Ombija’s restaurant ‘Samaki Samaki’ for noise pollution.

Speaking during a Twitter Spaces discussion hosted by Nation on Thursday evening Ms. Too said her noise pollution complaints were initially ignored until she turned to social media.

She also complained that patrons of the restaurant park outside her house haphazardly and also use the space outside her house as a taxi drop-off point, increasing security risk.

“The establishment across my place started by saying it was a jazz bar. Okay, they played jazz, and if you played jazz at a low volume, it’s palatable. It’s not going to vibrate my house. But there are certain beats that you’ll play – and I live in an old house – it vibrates my house,” she said.

Ms. Too claimed the loud music from the restaurant has inconvenienced several neighbors, including an embassy that sits on the other side of the club.

“Even after the music is switched off at 3 or 4 am, the patrons are still talking loudly to each other because they’ve been listening to loud music and shouting at each other. We’re still not able to sleep,” added Ms. Too.

During the discussion, she clarified that her intention is not to have any business shut down but to have them respect the people who live where they come to open their bars and clubs.

Weeks ago Emma and Trevor were engaged in an online tiff after the TV host offered to soundproof the beauty queen’s house.

This was so that she wouldn’t continue being offended by the noise.

In what looked like a discussion aimed at finding a permanent solution for the problem, Trevor said;

“One thing that I would like to propose as the chair has already said is that when there is a complaint against a bar owner or restaurant let’s have more than half the people complaining. If the apartments are 20, then 15 of them should show us the lease, sign, and tell us this is the problem,” he explained.

Trevor added that he had offered to help a resident who had complained about ‘his’ restaurant Samaki Samaki’s noise.

He suggested that he even offered to soundproof her house.

“I started by her roof, she said no, I should soundproof the entire house. I said okay, for me to do any soundproofing for the entire house I will need to get a permit from the county government,” he said.

Trevor added;

“Show me your lease, get a confirmation from the landlord and they are okay with me soundproofing your apartment she refused.

Now what she does, is she puts stones outside on the road saying many of my customers park outside her apartment therefore it is a security concern.”Emma responded

According to Emma a lady known as Vanice Morwabe is the real owner of the establishment.

Emma also took to Twitter to respond to Trevor’s post but refrained from using his name and occasionally referred to him as Noah.

” I’m truly the wrong lady to intimidate! I’m not even shocked that’s how he thinks he can solve this! I have been very clear about what they should do! I never address Noah, I address the real owner!,” part of Emma’s tweet read.

The former model is at war with Trevor Ombija over a noisy club he owns near where she lives.

She went on to add,

“How do you soundproof a split-level house and not the actual club? What will other residents do? Will they also soundproof the whole street? Turn down the music and stop parking at my house!”

Emma concluded by revealing that she’d tried to be cordial about the matter because a lady owns the establishment and she was trying the whole women supporting women thing.
