As is a trend with political parties, the Agano Party, led by Mwaure Waihiga, has mentioned names who have been proposed to be cabinet secretaries in the Agano government if they win in the coming 9th August general elections.
In a press briefing, the Agano Party officials, led by Mwaure, explained that they had asked Kenyans to propose the people they would want to serve in the cabinet.
“We sent an appeal out to Kenyans to suggest names of gifted Kenyans who can serve in Cabinet,” said Mwaure.
Among the top names in the current government mentioned in this list are Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and his Education counterpart, George Magoha.
According to Mwaure, the names of Matiang’i and Magoha were mentioned severally.
“The name of CS Matiang’i of the current government has been proposed strongly by more than one person. Also CS Magoha.” announced Mwaure.
Interestingly, Ida Odinga, Azimio Coalition flag bearer Raila Odinga’s wife, has also been proposed. Mwaure argued that Ida has served the country for many years; hence, there is no reason why she should not serve in government.
“Prophetically, Mama Ida Odinga has also been proposed, and the question we ask is why can’t she serve in government,” Mwaure posed.
Adding, “Mama Ida has fought for this country. There is no reason she shouldn’t serve in the government.”
Another interesting proposal is Roots Party’s Deputy Presidential Candidate Justina Wamae. Justina has been trending online over the word war she had with Mutahi Ngunyi.
Mwaure claimed that Justina and his deputy, Ruth Mutua, were friends; hence the latter would fit in the Agano Cabinet.
Justina’s boss, Prof. Wajackoya is also welcomed by the Agano government, but he must amend his ways regarding bhang. Mwaure claimed that Wajackoya can be in charge of the cancer center he will develop if elected.
He said, “From where we are seated, we have said that if Wajackoya mends his ways. There is something he is telling Kenyans. We can make him the head of cancer center we want to develop.”
Among other names proposed are former CS Justus Maraga, Rachel Ruto, Okiya Omtata, and Reuben Kigame.
