Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has again come to the rescue of former Kenyan boxer Conjestina Achieng.
On Saturday, Sonko sent a car to pick the 43-year-old to Mombasa for prayers, a few days after his son appealed for help due to die financial needs the family facing.
Speaking at the Hospital where Conje is admitted, Sonko has promised to adopt Conjestina Achieng to his family until she gets well, where he will open gym business for her.
The mother of one is currently being treated at a hospital in Mombasa before being taken for prayers.
According to Sonko, she demanded that she is taken to a hospital before to goes to attend his court case hearing.
“Huyu Conjestina ameleta ngori at lazima nimpeleke hosi ndioniende kortini,” Sonko said.
A section of Kenyans have celebrated sonko for standing with her.
“The family is grateful for Mike Sonko’s support. He has promised to support her until Conje is fully recovered,” Conje’s son thanked Sonko.
Adding:
“We thanked Sonko for his continued support. We had given up our sister but he has come through. Our mother is grateful,” Conje’s young sister Everlyn Adala stated.
Adding:
“Once she gets well, we request that she is not taken back to Nyanza. Anytime, she comes home – she get mentally ill again.”
