George Wajackoyah, the presidential candidate for the Roots Party, has discussed his ideas for women if he wins the August election.
Wajackoyah emphasized the difficulties that women face both during pregnancy and after giving birth, claiming that these people should be cared for.
“Women should be given rights to choose when they give birth because that is another employment. They will be paid, any mother who gets pregnant… and there is scientific evidence to show that she is pregnant, we shall start paying her a stipend. She will become a state project right from the time she gets pregnant,” he said.
A mother will be well cared for from the moment of conception to the time she gives birth, according to the chairman of the roots party.
He said that the funds will come from the government-funded marijuana business.
He plans to speak with Canadian experts over the period of maternity leave that women ought to receive, which, in his opinion, ought to begin as soon as a woman becomes pregnant.
Wajackoyah stated that those who commit gender-based violence will face severe consequences and that specific police stations will be set up to deal with the issue.
