“I used to cry every morning” Jackie Matubia Narrates Painful Pregnancy Journey

Jackie Matubia recently gave birth to thespian Blessing Lung’aho, alias Madiba’s baby.

The couple met while working on the Zora TV series, and their romance blossomed on screen.

Pregnancy journey

After attending the hospital for a check-up after slipping while partying, the mother of one realized she was pregnant for Blessing.

“It was unexpected. I actually knew I was pregnant when it was eight weeks old,” she said.

Matubia admitted that she used to party a lot before finding out she was expecting her second child.

“There is this event I went to and as always I partied to the fullest and I remember going backstage, missed a step and fell down. I stood up and went to where Blessing and my friends were, told them I had fallen down and they laughed,” she narrated.

The multi-talented actress says she started suffering Covid-19-like symptoms after that.

“Blessing’s perfume used to irritate me after the fall and couldn’t tell why,” she recalled.

The mother of one admitted that getting pregnant again had never occurred to her and that she had even used the contraceptive pill.

When she got to the hospital, the doctor asked her about her period calendar, which she thought was strange.

“For me missing my period that month I thought it was the side effects of the injection. So I
knew I couldn’t get pregnant,” she said.

“The doctor told me ‘congratulations you’re eight weeks pregnant’. Nilifreeze. I got to a point
and I was should I cry, laugh or celebrate?”

Before taking things to the next level, she wanted Blessing to bond with her kid.

“I remember I went to the car and cried for 30 minutes because I felt like my world had crumbled. I called Blessing and when he came home, we talked,” she said.

Matubia expressed surprise at the pregnancy news, saying:

“I cried every morning like for a week and the reason was, at that particular time, I had jobs and now I had to call my bosses and share the news because I didn’t know if some could cancel my contracts. I was feeling like I’m gonna lose everything. It was heavy in me,” she said.

Matubia expressed her fear that no man would marry her with two children after learning she was expecting her second child.

“Being pregnant in your 20s and 30s are two different, the body changes,” she said.
