Safaricom rewards Faith Kipyegon with 2 million cash, honours her with 3D Projection on KICC

Faith Kipyegon, the holder of two world records, received a Ksh. 2 million cash from Safaricom for her exceptional accomplishment.

The telecom company honored Kipyegon on Monday for setting new World Records in the 1500- and 5000-meter races in the Diamond League.

The central business center skyscraper with 29 floors also featured a wall map of Kipyegon.

Peter Ndegwa, CEO of Safaricom, who presided over the event, praised the athlete for putting Kenya on the map of the world.

“At Safaricom, we are committed to supporting talents in the country. We appreciate and feel proud of what Faith has achieved and for her stellar performance, breaking two world records in one week. I believe this will help motivate many more talents in the country,” said Ndegwa.

Adding:

“We will continue to be involved in sports because we know sports is a source of inspiration and a passion for many Kenyans.”

Kipyegon commended Safaricom and urged young mothers and athletes to follow their passions, focus on what motivates them, and have faith in themselves.

Kipyegon finished the 1500 meters in 3:49.11 and the 5000 meters in 14:05.20.

She will now turn her attention to Monaco for the IAAF Diamond League in July, then to Budapest, Hungary for the World Athletics Championship, which she defined as her year’s objective.

On Monday night, the iconic Kenyatta International Convention centre was also lit up with a 3D projection of Faith in support of her World Records courtesy of Safaricom.
