Twitter Suspends account impersonating Ruto’s daughter Charlene Ruto
Twitter has suspended a catfish twitter account using Charlene Ruto, daughter of president-elect William Ruto.
Kenyans learned on Tuesday morning that the ‘Charlene Ruto’ account, which had amassed over 142.1K followers, had been suspended for disobeying Twitter’s community standards.
Charlene Ruto may have reported the account since it was allegedly being used to impersonate her.
The aforementioned account was suspended days after Twitter DCI conducted an investigation and learned it was being run by a “Mjengo” man who had mastered the craft of crafting his tweets to seem and sound like Charlene Ruto.
A section of Kenyans online were quick to comment on the suspension, saying they always suspected the account was being operated by an imposter.
