Along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, a vehicle accident involving a truck and matatu claimed the lives of twenty persons.
On Friday, July 8, the deadly crash happened at Taru in Kwale County.
The tragedy was confirmed by Fredrick Ombaka, the OCPD for Kinango, who noted that the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) was traveling from Nairobi to Mombasa when the truck rammed into it.
Locals came to assist the police in locating the injured and rushing them to the closest hospitals.
Videos posted to social media showed the PSV’s driver locked in the car as medical personnel worked to free him despite his severe injuries.
