Reprieve for Mithika Linturi as woman who accused him of rape withdraws case

Mithika Linturi, a nominee for the agriculture cabinet secretary position, has been granted relief when a prosecution accusing him of attempted rape was dropped.

The lady who claimed Linturi tried to rape her consented to drop all charges against the former Meru senator, according to a broadcast on TV 47 on Monday, October 3.

The arrangement between Linturi and the subject of the lawsuit was revealed to Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi.

According to Linturi’s attorney Muthomi Thiankolu, the woman agreed to drop the complaint on September 21 by signing an affidavit.

After the Director of Public Prosecution stated that they were aware of the specifics of the arrangement between Linturi and his accuser, the magistrate approved the withdrawal of the case.

The DPP informed the court that the woman had consented to drop the case and all related legal actions against the Agriculture CS nominee through state attorney Nyakira Kibera.
