Kirinyaga man surrenders to police after killing wife for selling beans without his permission
A man from Gichonjo village has been detained by police in Kirinyaga County after he is accused of fatally stabbing his wife over the selling of beans without first consulting him.
Residents claimed that after working together to harvest the beans, the guy went home and began fighting with his wife, killed her, and then turned himself in at the Kianyaga police station.
Residents were baying for his blood after the killing, which caused a major outcry.
Locals claimed they discovered the dead in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor, which was an obvious sign that she had been stabbed multiple times.
The 40-year-old suspect was reportedly taken into custody by police as they started looking into potential motives for the murder.
The deceased’s body was taken to the mortuary at Level 5 of the Kerugoya Hospital in anticipation of the post-mortem.
