Joyce Gituro lands new job at Machakos County
Joyce Gituro, a former radio host, took the oath of office on Monday to become the Machakos County Chief of Public Communications and E-Government.
The Machakos County Assembly successfully vetted and approved the candidate before the swearing-in ceremony.
Two other chief officers were sworn in during the ceremony, which was attended by Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
Francis Munyambu (inspectorate and emergency services) and Dr. Juliana Ndunge (waste management, sanitation, and sewerage) are two of them.
“I take the opportunity to wish them the very best, God’s guidance and wisdom as they serve the great people of Machakos County in fulfilling our Clarion call Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni,” Governor Ndeti said.
“I have so much to say about this appointment but for now allow me to thank the Almighty God for His mercies that are new every morning, @governorwavinyandeti for believing in me, my dear daughter and two sons for loving me always, my immediate and extended family members for being there and for ALL my friends for being very very patient with me. Indeed let the Lord lead the way to my new territory. Blessings🙏” Gituro captioned.
Their appointments were gazetted by the governor on June 21, 2024.
Gituro worked at Royal Media Services for over 15 years, having started as an On-Air Host and went on to grow through the ranks to become Transmission controller at Radio Citizen and later on Brand Manager.
In 2018, she quit and later on joined Mediamax Network as head of programs, where she was in charge of six Radio stations. She quit in 2019.
Gituro would later on join Radio Jambo in 2020, where she worked as host of the Sunday show ‘Injili Jumapili’ (Gospel Sunday).
