Inside details of Uhuru’s Visit to Raila at His Karen Home (PHOTOS)

On Tuesday evening, September 8, three days after the Supreme Court affirmed President-elect William Ruto’s victory, President Uhuru Kenyatta paid a visit to Azimio La Umoja flagbearer Raila Odinga at his house in Karen.

The two leaders discussed the results of the election and the Supreme Court’s decision to reject their appeal for the presidency, according to sources.

Uhuru, who was accompanying his eldest son, Jomo Kenyatta, was seen smiling and joking around while posing for pictures with the other person in the handshake.

Makau Mutua, the spokesperson for the Azimio La Umoja movement, and James Orengo, the governor of Siaya, were notable attendees at the conference.

Orengo served as Raila’s principal attorney in the Supreme Court case that was dismissed after rulings by Ruto and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission were upheld by seven judges, including Chief Justice Martha Koome (IEBC).

Scholar and columnist Okech Kendo, Raila’s wife Mama Ida Odinga, and Winnie Odinga, Raila’s daughter, all attended the meeting in Raila’s home.

The visit coincides with a series of scheduled meetings between the two leaders and elected members of Azimio La Umoja.

After Azimio was defeated by Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza, Uhuru is anticipated to discuss the next steps. On Monday, September 5, the president gave a state of the country address.
