Veteran musician Florence Wangari Wa Kabera recently shared a jaw-dropping account of betrayal and heartbreak involving a man who entered her life, made her his lover, left her for her daughter, and later abandoned her daughter for her granddaughter.
This extraordinary tale of cross-generational deceit has left many speechless, especially as her granddaughter, the man’s latest conquest, is named after her.
A Revelation That Shook Fans
In a candid interview with Inooro FM’s Jeff Kuria, Wangari recounted the heart-wrenching experience.
She revealed that her relationship with the man unraveled after discovering a video of him naked and conversing intimately with her daughter.
“I was downtrodden. I could not imagine that the love of my life was having an affair with my biological daughter. I was even traumatised when I confronted my daughter, and her response was unprintable insults to me. She said she could not leave my husband,” Wangari revealed.
The betrayal deepened as her daughter eloped with the man, leaving Wangari heartbroken and hospitalised due to depression.
“I was so sick and depressed. I could not believe that my pursuit of love had separated me from my child. Day by day, the truth sank in that I had lost my man to my daughter,” she recounted.
A Love Song for the Betrayer
Despite the betrayal, Wangari’s affection for the man remained evident in her music. Three years ago, she released My Love Chege, a song in which she expressed her deep devotion:
“Love is dangerous. You entered in my heart and erased my mind to an extent that I always think about you… For sure, your love blocked my eyes that I don’t think other men exist. There is no man like you,” she sang.
The Granddaughter Enters the Picture
The saga took an even more shocking turn when Wangari’s daughter returned to her in tears, revealing that the man had now left her for Wangari’s granddaughter.
“She came back to me crying… She revealed the man had done the same thing to her by taking over my granddaughter. I was astounded and could not believe that the man who was once my lover had moved through my generation—from me to my daughter, and now my granddaughter,” Wangari said.
Accompanied by elders, her daughter sought reconciliation, and Wangari forgave her. Meanwhile, the granddaughter is said to have rented a house in Ruiru, while the man now works in the United States.
Public Outrage and Reactions
The revelation has sparked widespread outrage and comparisons to other shocking scandals, such as the case in Equatorial Guinea involving Baltasar Ebang Engonga, who allegedly had affairs with hundreds of women, including relatives and government officials.
Among those reacting to Wangari’s story was gospel artist Loise Kim, who wrote:
“Unbelievable! He marries the mother, divorces her, takes in the daughter and then the granddaughter. The man is insane. He doesn’t have manners; he is just like a dog that gives birth to a puppy and then eats it.”
Social media users expressed mixed reactions, with some blaming the man for his actions and others urging Wangari’s family to address generational issues and spiritual ties.
Wangari’s Complex Love Life
This isn’t the first time Wangari’s love life has made headlines. In a separate interview with Kameme FM’s Muthoni Wa Kirumba, she disclosed that she has been married over 15 times in her quest for love and companionship.
“I have never been promiscuous in nature, but I have always cherished relationships and marriage. That is why, in my pursuit of love and marriage, I have been involved in more than 15 different marriages,” Wangari explained.
At one point, she was married to the late artist Sam Kinuthia, whom she left after his struggles with alcoholism. She described her journey as one of searching for love, often at great personal cost.
Despite her tumultuous experiences, Wangari’s story highlights her resilience and her willingness to forgive.
Her tale has ignited conversations about relationships, generational curses, and the complexities of love, leaving many reflecting on the price one pays in the pursuit of affection.
