Wilson Airport’s airspace has been restricted to allow the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) to conduct military exercises at Langata barracks.
An spokesperson from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) confirmed the restriction of the airspace to the media, stating that the shutdown began at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13 and will stay until 5 p.m.
The military drill will be graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta, who will be visiting the Lang’ata Barracks. The official said, “Yes, it is due to a presidential event at Langata Barracks.”
Most airlines using the airport were compelled to postpone their flights as a result of the exercise.
