Former Machachari actress Clara Wamaitha aka Cindy Mama Stella got spoiled while she was still a student, she even used to sleep away from home.
Clara opened up about her troubled past while speaking during an interview with vernacular YouTuber Wambui wa Mwangi.
The actress stated that is the first born daughter in a family of three. She noted that she was known for her naughty behavior and that she received quite a beating from her mother.
Clara gave her mother a hard time when growing up as she would go out partying till dawn and returned home to just wear her uniform and go to school.
During that time, the former Machachari actress was also drinking and doing drugs.
She ultimately got pregnant and for a moment her mother thought she would change and concentrate on raising her child. Instead, Clara packed her clothes and moved in with her baby daddy.
Her marriage was disastrous, her husband was always secretive and never wanted to visit public places and this worried her a lot.
Things got worse when the former Machachari actress got sick and a friend went to stay with her in the matrimonial house.
Her husband didn’t want the friend staying there. He took Clara and her friend to hospital and abandoned them there, paid the medical bills and told her that he never wanted to see her in his life again. She begged him but he refused to take her back.
The former Machachari actress later found out that her husband was a notorious gangster after police placed wanted posters.
“I was shocked to see my husband’s picture as the most wanted man,” Clara stated.
Clara moved on with her life and started acting to earn a living. She starred in Machachari until Citizen TV pulled the plug on the show.
She was diagnosed with full blown Vitiligo years after exiting Machachari. She opened up about the condition during an interview with YouTuber Hiram Maina in 2021.
“Even before Machachari ended, I spotted some slight coloring but then I ignored it. I was not that keen on my skin but after sometime it became full-blown (This is Vitiligo) but am currently recovering. Nimetumia Pesa na medication sio rahisi hata Kidogo …nimefanyiwa tests, but unajua sisi kama artistes tumekuwa grounded for some time now” said clara.
The former actress went on to disclosed that she has been fully dependent on her daughter (Maggy) who has been footing all her medical bills.
“Nimekuwa nategemea my daughter yangu Maggy na hakuna Hospital sijaenda…but hiyo yote ujue inataka pesa na mimi siko job na ile pesa kidogo nilikuwa nimesave ndo tunakula…so kuna wakati nimetumwa Kenyatta Hospital for test na hiyo ni Sh28K and yote iko on Maggy.
“Hii Journey imekuwa ngori at some point nilikuwa depressed, before ni-accept hivi ndo kunaenda haikuwa rahisi, unajua mimi ni artiste, na juu nimechange skin kuna watu hawatukuita kwa show zao”.
