“Nitakununulia lunch” – Uhuru Kenyatta praises Gaucho for his courage in fighting for truth

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has reacted to viral photos where he was spotted with the self-proclaimed Bunge la Mwananchi president Calvince Okoth aka Gaucho.

Speaking during the Jubilee Party National Delegates Convention at Ngong Racecourse, Uhuru praised Gaucho for his courage to support the party when there was wrangles in their offices.

“Naskia wengine wakisema eti waliniona nikitembea na vijana hapo. Nashuku hao vijana kwa kujitokeza kuja kutetea chama chao. Niliwakuta huko, na walikuja maana waliona ni dhambi ilikuwa inafanyika huko. Kwa hivyo vijana nawashukuru”

“Na hata wewe mwenye wanasema tulikuwa tunatembea na wewe, anaitwa Gaucho, nikikuona tena nitakununulia lunch..alijitokeza huko aliko kuja kulinda mali ya chama. Si hiyo ni haki?” he added.

Recently, Gaucho accompanied the former head of state to the Jubilee Party headquarters in Kileleshwa.

Jubilee Party is among the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party affiliate parties.

Uhuru’s visit to the party offices came amid noisy wrangles pitting former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni and East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega factions.

Later, Gaucho who has been instrumental in championing the recent Azimio anti-government protests in Nairobi aimed at lowering the cost of living, described the former president as his friend.

“Uhuru is my good friend. He is my boss,” Gaucho told Nairobi News.

Gaucho further noted that he shares several qualities with Uhuru.

“He was our president, I am also the president of Bunge la Mwananchi. We are leaders and that’s why I call him my friend,” adding that his relationship with Mr Kenyatta is 100%.

Taking to his official Facebook page, blogger Lemiso Sato Emmanuel shared photos of Uhuru and Gaucho which elicited mixed reactions among netizens.
