Sakaja comes to the rescue of needy boy, sponsors his full education

Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja has come to the rescue of Carlos Baraza, needy boy who won his heart during a public event.

Speaking during a funeral ceremony on Saturday, January 21, at Murumba Village, Marachi Central, Butula in Busia County, Sakaja announced that he would sponsor the boy for his entire secondary school and university education.

This was after Baraza desperately approached him crying as the funeral was going on.

“Carlos Baraza is a blessed and brave young man. Carlos came up to me crying in the middle of my condolence message at Mzee Magoba’s funeral in Busia. He passed his KCPE with 354 marks but had no hope due to a lack of fees.

Carlos will go far in life. I will sponsor him for the entire 4 years of high School and university after that. God bless you, Carlos,” stated the governor.

The Nairobi county boss was attending the funeral service of Mzee Silvanus Magoba father to Magoba MCA Lower Savannah ward Embakasi East.

“Mzee Sylvanus lived a great long life of service and was promoted to glory at age 102,” he announced.

He was accompanied by Deputy Governor Njoroge Muchiri, Speaker of Nairobi County Assembly Ken Ng’ondi, Leader of Majority Peter Imwatok and 40 Members of the County Assembly from all parties.

“Thank you for standing with one of your own. May the Good Lord rest Mzee’s soul in peace,” Sakaja noted.

On November 14, 2022, another young boy caught the attention of Sakaja after he approached him and pleaded for help to go back to school.

“This young man touched my heart. He walked up to me and said he wanted to go to school,” Sakaja stated then.

Adding:

“The young man had been living on the streets after being abandoned despite the ongoing heavy rains and the risks of living in the CBD,” he expounded.
