Kenyan Comedienne Awinja goes international as she sells Njugu And Mukhombero to World Cup fans in Qatar

Kenyan comedian Awinja Nyamwalo created a sensation on Sunday night at the Al Thumama Stadium by “selling” peanuts and mukhombero to ecstatic spectators who had come to witness the Morocco vs. Belgium World Cup match in the traditional Kenyan manner.

As part of the “Twende Qatar na Odibets” initiative, Awinja is one of a group of influencers visiting Doha, Qatar. The multi-talented actress serves as a brand ambassador for the top betting company.

Tens of thousands of Moroccan fans were packed into the stadium and ready to sample the well-known Kenyan goodies that she was selling at mbao, so she lined up at the entrance (Sh20).

She was obviously charitable enough to give everyone a taste.

“I have come here to help you guys. This is a Kenyan aphrodisiac,” she shouted as interested fans milled around her to have a taste.

“I like it!” one of the Morocco fans shouted after throwing a few grains into his mouth.

Awinja, real name Jacky Vike, carried the rural Kenyan traditions to the stadium where she gently rolled down her seat and sang to the African seat covers to make sure she sat in a “lovely environment.”

The 26 Kenyans who were part of the Odibets-sponsored delegation loved watching Morocco defeat Belgium 2-0 to go to the round of 16 in the tournament’s inaugural game.

Five of the group’s total of 26 participants were Odibets promotion winners, and they expressed their joy at having the opportunity to see a World Cup game in person.
