Mourners left in awe as Chepkut’s close friend accuses him of snatching his girlfriend

After a close friend of the late former MP William Chepkut took the stage to pay him honor during his funeral, there was a brief burst of laughter.

After a protracted struggle with illness, the former congressman passed away on October 8 and was laid to rest a little more than a week later at his Uasin Gishu residence.

A close friend of Chepkut’s spoke at his funeral and the mourners found his speech to be soothing as he described how he and Chepkut went through life’s seasons together.

He began by criticizing former MP Kesses MP Mishra, claiming that after they visited President Yoweri Museveni in Uganda, he failed to offer Chepkut a commission.

“You should give KSh 10 million to the children of the MP because Chepkut lamented so much after you refused to give him the commission,” he said.

The story of Chepkut’s friend about how he and Chepkut looked for wives while counselling one another was humorous.

“For my first wife, Chepkut helped me get her. I went to the US with her, and she declined to come back to Kenya with me and so I got another wife whom I pursued with Chepkut,” he said.

The man also claimed that Chepkut also stole his girlfriend and married her:

“We need to recognise the women that Chepkut married. He has a woman from Eritrea, and his third wife, Betsy, came to my office once to get a passport, and I saw she was a very beautiful woman. I even took her for lunch at Intercom and invited Chepkut to join us. Since then I have never seen her, I came to see her here,” he said as the audience burst into a hearty laughter.
