KUCCPS Offers Govt Sponsorship to Kenyans Who Sat For KCSE Between 2000 & 2021

All Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates who sat the national exam between 2000 and 2021 can redeem themselves with technical skills in a government-sponsored program.

On Thursday, October 6, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS) announced over 300,000 sponsorship slots to be filled.

In the statement dated Thursday, October 6, interested candidates can get placement to diploma, craft, and artisan certificate courses for the January 2023 intake.

“All KCSE certificate holders who sat the examination from the year 2000 to 2021 and have not benefited from government sponsorship for TVET training are eligible to apply where they meet the minimum requirements,” read part of the statement.

According to the statement, applicants have between Friday, October 7 to Sunday, October 16 to submit their applications.


The statement also listed the minimum requirements for the applicants. For Artisan Certificate Course one should have attained a mean grade of D-(minus) and below.

On the other hand, for Craft and Certificate Courses the applicant should have a mean grade of D (plain) and above, and for Diploma courses, an applicant should have attained a C- (minus) and above.

How to Apply

Applicants should visit the student portal through the KUCCPS website

The online application requires one to fill in personal details to log in to the system.

Include your KCSE index number, KCSE year, and password.

Note that the password can be either your birth certificate number or the KCSE index number.

Once logged in, you can select at most four courses of your choice from the one you are most interested to the least.

Click the submit button.
