DPP Haji changes tune on dropping Lenolkulal’s Graft Case

Moses Lenolkulal, a former governor of Samburu, is still facing charges related to a bribery scheme involving Ksh80 million.

Noordin Haji, the director of public prosecution, withdrew his initial application on Friday, October 14, asking the court to dismiss the case against the former county executive.

The evidence Haji had obtained was not enough to convict the governor, he had testified to the court.

However, Magistrate Thomas Nzioka rejected his initial request to dismiss the case and urged the prosecutor to present adequate evidence to support their position.

Therefore, the case will continue into a full hearing in January 2023, where a decision will be made.
