Rigathi Gachagua Now Wants to Meet Uhuru Kenyatta for Cup of Tea

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has shown interest in having a cup of tea with former President Uhuru Kenyatta to reminisce and patch things up.

The DP claimed that their conflict was only a result of politics and expressed his desire to reunite with Uhuru, with whom he had known for 20 years.

The former Mathira MP remarked in an interview with KTN News that their conflict was not personal and that he would seek him out for a cup of tea.

“We have no problem with our outgoing president Uhuru Kenyatta. We wish him well in retirement. You know he is my buddy of 20 years, and when things settle down, I will look for him and catch up on good times,” he said.

The Kenya Kwanza top leadership has previously insisted that they have no issues with Uhuru, whose reign they have criticized and charged with bullying them.

A few days prior to the elections on August 9, Ruto insisted he would stand with his boss Uhuru.

On Saturday, August 6, Ruto told the Kenya Kwanza supporters gathered at Nyayo Stadium that Uhuru should not be alarmed if he forms the next government.

“You have absolutely nothing to fear,” Ruto told Uhuru, who has since thrown his weight behind his handshake partner, Raila Odinga of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition party.
