Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir Congratulates Jalango, Cencedes Defeat

Nixon Korir, a Lang’ata MP, conceded defeat even before the IEBC released the final results.

The lawmaker expressed gratitude to the people of Lang’ata on social media for giving him the chance to serve as their member of parliament for the past five years.

“To the people of Lang’ata, I sincerely thank you for according me an opportunity to be your Member of Parliament for the last 5 years,” Korir said

“It’s been a great opportunity that gave me an avenue to contribute to our nation building and service to the people,” he added.

Further, Korir said, “Siasa si chuki,” congratulating his biggest adversary, former Kiss FM broadcaster Felix Odiwour aka Jalang’o, for an early victory.

“From the results that we’ve tallied at the Generali centre, my competitor Jalango has a lead and I want to congratulate him as he prepares to take the mantle and move Langata forward,” he stated.

Korir was running on the UDA ticket to defend his seat against Jalang’o, the ODM primary winner, in an effort to win over 145,649 people.

The winner of the close contest has not yet been announced by IEBC officials, who are currently tallying the votes.
