Raphael Tuju: Ruto was paid billions to support Uhuru, I can prove in court

Raphael Tuju, the executive director of Azimio la Umoja, has recently asserted that William Ruto, the deputy president, was paid to promote Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidential campaigns.

Speaking on Wednesday, Tuju reiterated that contrary to what he claims in public, the DP has never voluntarily supported the President.

“He was paid. Let the people of Mt Kenya not think Ruto supported Uhuru willingly, this is a person of blackmail. I can confirm before a court of law how,” he told Inooro FM.

“To him (Ruto) politics is business and that is why when he was making appointments in the cabinets and parastatals, he had to be given a 50 per cent share.”

The former Jubilee secretary general declared on Monday that he and DCI director George Kinoti would have to leave the country if Ruto were to win the 2022 presidential contest.

He pointed out that the recent attacks against Kinoti are warning signs that if Ruto wins, life will be difficult for him.

“I think someone like Kinoti and myself, we will have to find another country to go to… Especially for Kinoti, he will be forced to exile.”

Tuju declared his comments to be true and said that he had no concern about them being contradicted by what would happen to Kinoti.
