PHOTOS of Inspekta Mwala which prove that short people age gracefully

Davis Mwambili, better known by his stage name Inspekta Mwala, is one of the seasoned performers that dominated the radio in the 1990s.

Despite many fading into obscurity in the performing world, Mwala, who appeared in the local comedy Vitimbi alongside Mama Kayai, the late Mzee Ojwang, Likobe, and Ngomongo, to name a few, has managed to maintain her relevance.

Inspector Mwala biography

Inspector Mwala is a Kenyan born and bred thespian and comedian. He hails from Taita Taveta county where he also attended school before joining the local entertainment industry as an actor.

He started out as a part-time actor on the then popular Vitimbi and Vioja Mahakani, back in the days when the only channel aired in Kenyan tellies was KBC. He was brought in as a new face in Vitimbi in an effort to combat the competition from other local shows.

According to an interview he had with Hot 96, Mwala got ksh 150 per show, which was all his salary in the first month of acting. In the second month, he earned a paltry ksh 450, and thanks to his resilience, his gigs increased as months went by and he became almost indispensable.

After solidifying his place on the screens, Inspector Mwala got a chance to air his own weekly show on Citizen TV, called Inspekta Mwala, where he plays the role of the no-nonsense police officer. His show was an instant hit and still is until now.

He is, in fact, one of the funniest men Kenya has seen over the decades. Over the years, he has managed to air his own gig, as well as act as an MC for several projects. He has traveled all over the country MC-ing events and advertisements for companies like Safaricom and Airtel.
