Sisi ni Wanaume! Eric Omondi Calls Moral Cop Ezekiel Mutua in A Live Interview
The King of Comedy in Africa, Eric Omondi, is good at pulling online stunts. He will make in something that is non-existence, and you end up feeling fooled, especially if you had attacked him with negative comments.
Do you know he has probably fooled you again by making you believe that he is on bad terms with the self-proclaimed moral cop, Ezekiel Mutua, the new CEO of Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK)?
Let me give you some background.
Last year Eric and Mutua, the then Kenya Films Classification Board (KFCB) boss, were always in scuffles. Mutua accused Eric of producing obscene content via his show Wife Material, where Eric was seen kissing the contesters mannerlessly. On the other hand, Eric accused Mutua of sabotaging art by imposing meaningfulness regulations.
Their scuffles continued until Mutua was fired, and Eric was all over boasting how he had made Mutua lose his job because he was not supporting artists.
Recently, Mutua was appointed as the new CEO of MCSK, and as usual, Eric took to his online platforms to express his displeasure with Mutua’s new job.
Now, you would expect that the two are enemies. But shock on you!
Speaking with Presenter Ali at Mungai Eve’s birthday party, Eric expressed that he does not hold a grudge against the moral cop.
He explained that they are men, and it’s men’s nature not to hold grudges with each other.
“Sisi ni wanaume, hatuwekangi beef sana. Beef zetu ni kama za politics. Si serious,” he said.
To prove his statement, he went ahead to call Mutua on the live interview to ask him to agree to be interviewed by the digital journalists who were there.
An excited Ezekiel responded to the call telling Eric, “Hata hatujasalimiana kwa muda. Walete tukunywe chai.” He was referring to Eric as “my brother” as he told him when he was free to meet him.
Indeed, what we see on social media is mostly not real, and Eric seemingly is trying to teach us this lesson.
