How To Register Your Safaricom SIM Card Online

Customers of Safaricom no longer have to wait in huge lines to register their SIM cards in time for today’s deadline, as the largest telco has finally implemented online registration.

The business, which has 42.8 million mobile subscribers, is now following in the footsteps of its competitors Telkom Kenya and Airtel Kenya, which both allow customers to register online for the registration period, which ends today.

The telco had requested that all customers physically visit their outlets to resubmit their information, resulting in huge lines at their stores as Kenyans scrambled to meet the Communications Authority of Kenya’s deadline (CA).

Safaricom has since caught up with the rest with an online platform, which now allows customers to update their SIM details via an online platform.

Here are a few things to note though: make sure your ID photos are as clear as possible because the system will fail you.

Also, try to update the details from your phone because the process is way much easier, and faster.

You do not need a selfie to complete the process, so you do not need to worry about that.

Your facial photo will be required, yes, but that will be done sometime in 2023.

Nonetheless, here is the simple update process:

  • Go to this link.
  • Enter your phone number.
  • Enter the one-time password you will receive via SMS.
  • Upload the front and back images of your ID.
  • Complete and submit.

Afterward, the page will alert you that the process has been completed successfully.
